Fruity Fish-Face Pancakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate chips for decorating
  • Maple syrup optional

Instructions:

Mix the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl

Bring the egg, melted butter, buttermilk, and vanilla extract together in a different bowl and mix them with a whisk

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix them together until they are just mixed

Make sure not to mix it too much; a few lumps are fine

Put a nonstick skillet on medium heat and use cooking spray or butter to lightly coat it

For each fish-face pancake, pour 1/4 cup of pancake batter onto the pan

Make fish-face shapes out of the batter with the back of a spoon

To make the fish scales and fish eyes out of chocolate chips, put different pieces of fruit on top of each pancake

If the pancakes start to bubble on top, flip them over and cook for another one to two minutes, or until they are golden brown

Take the pancakes out of the pan and give them a minute or two to cool down

Put some whipped cream on top of every pancake to make fish hair

You can add maple syrup to your fruity fish-face pancakes if you like
